Espresso

Espresso was my last painting of my twenties and perfectly summarises the evolution of both me and my Art during this decade.

I started my twenties in a very different headspace, always rushing to the next accomplishment. Compared to now having the freedom, time and confidence to pursue a life that is still exhilarating and intense at times, but one that also affords me time to slow down and focus on what really matters to me. 

My style in this piece reflects this transition, from the more structured brushstrokes of her face cascading to the looser, more expressive strokes of her chest - this piece is an echo of my twenties and the energy I'm bring into my next decade.
