Haze

This piece is reminiscent of those lovely, hazy summer days. It really takes me back to the warmth of summer adventures with your best friends and was initially inspired by dips in the Hampstead Heath ponds. This piece serves as a reminder that the best things in life are truly free - just a dip in cool water is all you need sometimes.

Daydream

Daydream to me represents a quiet moment alone with your thoughts. This could be on a long car journey or a walk in the countryside, the times where you can let your mind wander without distraction.

Braids

This portrait unveils the resilience of a dynamic woman. The focus of this piece lies on her braided hair, depicted in my signature fluid, wavy brushstrokes that convey her vitality. Each strand embodies her resilience and complexity, with vibrant hues and subtle shadows adding depth. Through this textured construction, the painting celebrates the multifaceted nature of womanhood, inviting viewers to admire her inner strength and grace.

Spring

This piece was inspired by the song 'Solar Power' by Lorde. I wanted to encapsulate the same start-of-summer excitement that she conveys in her song by using a crisp apple green background against the warm golden brushstrokes to bring out that spring feeling of optimism, fresh energy and new beginnings.

Just as the song resonates with a sense of renewal, this piece aims to encapsulate that same spirit, inviting you to embrace the joyful anticipation of what lies ahead.

Winter

Created in December 2022, I aimed to infuse the frosty, cool tones of the outdoors into the painting. The skin is tinged with a delicate lilac hue, reminiscent of the icy chill of winter air. Her lips, painted in a rich plum shade, echo the depth and tranquility of the season.

Despite the cold, there is warmth and brightness represented by the holly berry red earrings adorning her ears. These festive accents serve as a reminder of the resilience and vibrancy that persist even in the depths of winter. Through this portrayal, I celebrate the adaptability and strength of women, who, like the seasons, navigate life's changes with grace and beauty.

Aquamarine

Whenever I feel overwhelmed, my respite is to always close my eyes and take myself to somewhere calm. And for me, that’s when I’m swimming in the ocean, I truly don’t think there’s any peace like it. Whenever I’m lucky enough to be in the sea, I’ll always take a mental snapshot of where I am and the feeling I have from being supported in the water and gently guided by the waves, so that in times of stress I can replay these moments in my mind.

Aquamarine is a painting that embodies this feeling. It serves as a reminder that we are always supported and guided, no matter where we are.

Honeydew

With this painting I hoped to capture the essence of a warm summer day. I love that delicious feeling of the heat of the sun on your face contrasted with the coolness of the ocean around you, and the subtle blend of muted greens and warm pinks of her cheeks seek to emphasise this. I hope this piece invites you to relax and soak in the warmth of sunny summer memories.

Azure

I've always linked different colours with various emotions and feelings. For me, a warm, rich turquoise green has always represented love. It never made sense to me that pink and red are the traditional colours of Valentine's Day. Recently, I discovered through yoga that green is the colour of the heart chakra, which makes perfect sense to me.

Azure embodies that feeling of love - she’s literally envelopes in green — she’s falling in love, being in love, and fully embracing the experience. It's really a feeling unlike any other.

Emerald Waters

I created this piece during a time when I had confidence in my art, but not in myself.

The intensity of her gaze serves as a reminder that we all possess the inner strength to assert ourselves and stand up for our beliefs whenever necessary. I used to be afraid of prioritising my own needs, always considering how others might react. However, I’ve learned that my well-being matters just as much, and that part of being a women is learning how to fiercely protect yourself and your own needs.

Golden Hour

Golden Hour symbolizes those exhilarating moments when you feel truly alive and think, "How lucky am I?!" Suddenly, colors seem brighter and sounds become sharper. I once believed these moments were rare, but I've come to realize they can happen daily if we truly pay attention. Whether it's a message from an old friend wanting to catch up or talking a walk in nature, making the most of these moments is truly what life is about.

Golden Hour is a reminder to cherish these everyday moments and to recognize life for what it truly is — spectacular.

Reborn

I had been trying for so long to find my art style. I was trying to force techniques and aesthetics that I didn't connect with just because others artists had success with them.

This painting happened when I put that to one side, and focused on what I wanted in my art. Art to me is beauty and colour. In a gallery I am always drawn to the most vibrant paintings. My wardrobe is a rainbow of colour. As is the art in my own home. And I wanted to create art that was just as beautiful and colourful as the things I love to surround myself with.

This piece not only physically depicts a woman emerging from the water, it symbolises me returning to my true artistic self. And I hope whomever chooses this piece, chooses to return to their truest self also.
