About Katie
Katie McGowan is a contemporary artist, curator, and creative director, and founder of Wavism - a women-centred, intuitive painting movement informed by Impressionism, abstract expression, and classical training at the Florence Academy of Art.
Her gestural marks, layered surfaces, and bold colour fuse discipline with freedom, translating emotion into form.
She designs her exhibitions as immersive, sensory experiences, inviting viewers to move, feel, and connect with the work.
Through Wavism, Katie is rewriting the rules of the art world, placing intuition, emotion, and female perspective at the centre of contemporary painting.
